Amitabha! Buddhism Around the World

This exhibition design project is from my environmental graphic design class during my first year as an undergraduate student. As someone raised in a Buddhist family, I found it challenging to establish a sense of belonging in the United States, where Buddhism is discussed less than other religions. Encountering Buddhist-inspired sculptures in MFA Boston comforted me and reminded me of home. Given the scarcity of celebrations dedicated to Buddhist culture in Boston, I aspired to develop an exhibition paying homage to my heritage and community. To achieve this, I carefully recreated the sculptures, drawing inspiration from the original exhibition design at MFA, and reinterpreting it through a more personal narrative.
